Call a specialist to talk about Photography.

Most people who go on safari will take a camera, and even with the simplest kit amazing images can be captured while on game drives and walks in the bush, so don't worry too much about going out and spending a lot of money on a new camera if you don't feel so inclined. That said, a good digital-SLR with long zoom lens will yield terrific photos in the hands of the keen amateur - photo opportunities abound while on safari.

For those with a specific interest in photography and improving their photography skills in the wonderful setting of the Zambian bush, we can arrange bespoke tours with leading photography experts whilst staying at some of the best lodges in Zambia.

Patrick Bentley Photographic Safaris

This South Luangwa safari is unique in that it will be guided by someone who is not only a professional wildlife photographer but who is also an experienced and [cont.]

qualified safari guide. Patrick began guiding in the South Luangwa in 1994 and has extensive experience of the area and its wildlife as well as in-depth knowledge of the African bush and animal behaviour. He photographs the area around Lion Camp daily and knows its inhabitants and their haunts well. Patrick will be the driver and guide of the safari, ensuring you are in the best position for every photographic opportunity.

The emphasis of this photographic safari will be on intensive photography in the field, involving two game-drives per day, including being out during dawn and dusk to best capture the wonderful light present at these times of day. This safari is small and intimate and is limited to just 4 guests, ensuring that everyone has plenty of one-on-one time with Patrick. Travel will be in an open-top Land Rover with one person to each row of seats and one in the front seat with Patrick. Photographers of any level are welcome.

David Rogers Photographic Workshops

Also in South Luangwa you can stay with Robin Pope Safaris in their magnificent lodges and at the same time join the renowned wildlife photographer David Rogers for one of his photographic workshops. Again suitable for all abilities, these workshops will help bring out your creative and technical photographic skills in a sublime setting.

These tours are limited in availability and only run at set times, so for more information please contact us at ZambiaAway for more information and rates.
