GET THE MOST FROM ZAMBIA

One of the reasons we think Zambia is the best safari location in Africa is the wide range of destinations within the country for the discerning safari-goer.  From the unparalleled game-viewing of the South Luangwa, to the majestic backdrop of the mighty Zambezi River, and of course not forgetting one of the seven wonders of the natural world, the majestic Victoria Falls.

For more information on a particular National Park or location, either select one from the drop-down menu above or select a panel from the list at the bottom of the page.

Main Destinations

Most of the itineraries that we devise for our guests include one, two all perhaps all three destinations shown here, namely the Lower Zambezi and South Luangwa National Parks, together with Victoria Falls.

South Luangwa

South Luangwa is the premier game-viewing spot in Zambia, with a large area of unspoilt bush and excellent sightings available throughout the year. It is also the premier location for a range of exciting walking safaris.

Lower Zambezi

As well as great game drives, the Lower Zambezi offers exciting alternative ways to view the wildlife - from boat or canoe - and some splendid lodges to stay in. And the opportunity to catch one of the ferocious Tiger-fish that live here is not to be missed.

Victoria Falls

The Victoria Falls do not need much introduction - they are a fabulous sight from early in the year right through until late August, and a must-see for any traveller visiting Zambia.

There is much, much more to do here though.

Other Destinations in Zambia

Although the "big three" destinations in Zambia shown above are rightly the most popular places with Zambia safari-goers, there are other areas worthy of mention that may offer more appeal to experienced safari-goers or those with specific interests.

North Luangwa

With just a handful of remote lodges, North Luangwa provides a fantastic location for walking safaris - a true wilderness.

It is also the home of some of the very few rhinos that still live in Zambia.

Kafue

Kafue is a rapidly emerging Park offering great variation in habitat and wildlife that has recently begun to draw more visitors as the transport links there improve.

It is quite easily reached from Lusaka by road.

Luambe

The Luambe National Park is located just to the north-east of the South Luangwa National Park.

It provides an interesting stepping-stone between North and South Luangwa.

Lochinvar

Lochinvar is a small Park that is mainly favoured by birders as it has a huge population of wading birds.

Unfortunately there is no longer lodge accommodation available here.

Lusaka

Lusaka is the point at which most international travellers will arrive and occasionally an overnight stop there is necessary.

However such a stay can be quite rewarding, if your accommodation is carefully selected.

Beach Destinations

Why travel all the way to Africa and not visit one of the continent's magical beaches?  We are happy to combine any safari in Zambia with a beach extension to a neighbouring destination such as Zanzibar or Malawi. Zanzibar is easily reached as a stop-off on the flight back home, whilst Malawi can even be reached from Zambia by road.

Zanzibar

Ancient Arabic culture and idyllic white-sand beaches combine at this popular tropical destination.

For many of our guests it provides the perfect end to their visit to Africa.

Lake Malawi

Malawi itself is rapidly developing as a country worth visiting for its game viewing.

But the beach experience on the shores of Lake Malawi is its key feature - rivalling even that of Zanzibar.
