Built with natural materials, the four chalets and restaurant/lounge area follow an innovative style and concept in their simplicity. Extremely respectful of its surroundings and its inhabitants, Island Bushcamp is set in a mahogany forest often utilised by elephants to cool off in the heat of the day.
Kanyemba Island bushcamp is for the more adventurous guests who want to experience the proximity to the African bush and its inhabitants. The chalets are very private and secluded, built on stilts, they afford a spectacular view of the surroundings, all in safety. They each have a veranda for outdoor lounging in the shade of the trees.
Meals at the bushcamp, in Kanyemba Style, are of the highest of standards and are served on a deck suspended above the lagoon, with a 180 degree view into the Zambezi landscape. Activities are as per the main Kanyemba Lodge, and revolve around the River.
Canoeing offers a novel and exciting way to see Africa, and can be enjoyed by first-timers and veterans alike.
We can arrange fishing tours for both experienced fly fishermen and beginners. Many lodges offer fishing as an activity - notably in the Lower Zambezi.
River cruises offer a different perspective on the bush and can be the only means of transport during rainy season!
The only way to get truly acquainted with the African bush is to see it on foot. Walking safaris offer a unique insight into an amazing habitat.

We think any opportunity to step outside the cosseted realm of the safari goer and into the real Africa should be taken if at all possible.
Just because it may rain doesn't mean you can't enjoy a magical safari at a time with few visitors and stunning scenery.
