Regrettably, we are no longer able to recommend staying at this hotel. For some reason (perhaps it doesn’t like dealing with agents) it had started to charge agents such as ourselves double the room rate that can be obtained by booking directly. Clearly we can no longer take responsibility for booking rooms for our guests. You might imagine that they could then book themselves in directly instead, but the hotel is now very resistant to giving out sample room rates in general, except in relation to an actual booking, making it very difficult to deal with.
Quite frankly, we feel that we would not wish to be responsible for suggesting that our guests book in here, since any hotel with an attitude like this could cause all sorts of other problems. The alternative is the nearby Royal Livingstone Hotel, which, although more expensive, is vastly superior.
